Between 25th and 27th of April 2018, the conference “Meat Industry at the Shelf” was held, one of the most important events dedicated to the meat industry and the retail area in the food industry in Romania. Major companies in the meat industry, manufacturers and representatives in retail and HoReCa took part in the event, including: Kralex, Cris-Tim, Agricola, Kosarom, CIA Aboliv, Smithfield Romania, La Provincia, Global Pig, MeatBox, City Grill Group, Nielsen, Europlast, Meat Technic Service, Metro Cash & Carry etc.
Manufacturers, processors and traders in the meat industry met in Brasov to discuss specific issues in the field, at a national conference. The “Meat Industry at the Shelf” conference also had a special guest in the person of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Petre Daea, who pointed out the main aspects of the governance program related to this important area.
Other topics of discussion were regarding the reduction of food imports, the encouragement of domestic producers, the obligation of respecting the production recipe and of mentioning it on the product label, the chains of stores and the Romanian tastes, the rebirth of the cooperatives, the advantages of the meat producers’ association and the importance of the technology in sales of meat products.
The event was the most important appointment between meat industry specialists, producers and retail partners, hosting over 20 speakers, opinion leaders and dedicated specialists.
