Direct contact with the food product
Films, bottles, cans, cups — the packaging that touches the food directly. Strict hygiene and compliance requirements.
Flexible packaging (foil / film)
The most common packaging type — 40% of the world market. From snack bags and meat films to dairy packaging.
Metal cans and lids
Canned food, beverages, pet food — fully recyclable cans with a sterile environment. Require special inks and high line speeds.
Eggs and direct food contact (food-grade)
Marking on eggs, cheese, biscuits and confectionery. Inks that touch the food are considered food additives — strict FDA/EU regulation.
Glass packaging
Bottles and jars for yogurts, preserves, jams. Require special inks — including alkali-soluble ones for returnable bottles.
Grouped boxes and multi-packs
The boxes that group several primary units. Barcode, batch, expiry date and logistics information.
Carton boxes (plain)
Excellent printing surface, structurally stable. Glossy or matte, colored or white coating — each variant requires adapted inks.
Corrugated carton boxes
Corrugated boxes need solutions that enable both traceability and branding. GS1-128 codes for advanced traceability across the entire supply chain.
Pallets and transport — end-to-end traceability

From 2027, traditional 1D barcodes will be gradually replaced by dynamic 2D codes — across all packaging levels, including food packaging. A single 2D code can hold GTIN, batch, expiry date, serial number and can be scanned by consumers, retailers and logistics systems alike.
